Proud recipient of a vast sea of rejections from many other publications and organisations
Prior non-writing things that I did at some point:
-
2025 - I independently toured Crywank (UK) across Australia and New Zealand with shows at Oxford Art Factory, The Corner Hotel, Crowbar Brisbane and many more.
-
2024 - Melbourne International Film Festival - Venue Manager.
-
2023 - Dragon Hearts - I was the producer of an experimental adult puppetry show appearing at the Sydney and Melbourne Fringe Festivals. The show was awarded best Emerging Artist.
-
2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 - Sydney Film Festival - I was the Venue Supervisor (2024) and Venue Coordinator (2022-3) for the festival's flagship venue, The State Theatre.
-
2020 - Oliver's Pre-Loved Bookshop - over Covid, I started an online pre-loved bookshop.
-
2019 - Stitches Music - I independently toured anti-folk, punk band, Crywank (for the second time) to Australia and New Zealand. We sold out multiple shows and had a very nice time meeting weird music fans across two beautiful countries.
-
2018 - Shampoo With A Purpose launches - Following a very long period of formulating and chemical innovation stuff (that I know almost nothing about), I developed the brand, Shampoo With A Purpose. It's a range of plastic-free shampoo that replaces up to six bottles of shampoo and conditioner per bar. SWAP has saved millions of plastic bottles from being made, used and wasted, and has been lauded by Women's Weekly, Studio 10, Vogue Australia, The Sydney Morning Herald, and more. I designed all of the packaging/branding, created our websites, established our now-prominent social media, developed a retail and wholesalesale strategy and bloody-well worked my tush off to get it off the ground. It's doing well.
-
2017 - Stitches Music - Independently toured anti-folk punk band, Crywank to Australia (Side note, but during that tour, I met the guy who managed Nirvana's first Australian tour and he told me I was cool. I still think about that all the time).
-
2016 - Produced Bey Vs. Jay, a DJ night that went viral online and sold out the Metro Theatre. Flex Mami, Odette and more performed (it was magical).
-
2015 - Produced Good Game Live, an in-person version of the hit SBS show at the Enmore Theatre.
-
2014 - Produced All Ages Concerts Sydney Show - Metro Theatre, featuring Japanese Wallpaper, Hockey Dad, and more.
-
2013 - Produced All Ages Concerts Sydney Christmas Show - Metro Theatre, featuring The Cairos and more.
-
2012 - When I was 15, I started a blog called All Ages Concerts Sydney. At our peak, we had 60 contributing writers and photographers ranging from 13 to 16 years old. I dubbed myself 'editor-in-chief' and commissioned reviews of live shows, developed a thorough news section, got into a mad online fight with the guy who ran Soundwave, sold advertising placements on our website, interviewed bands like The Kooks, Tame Impala, Bliss N Eso, and the Jungle Giants, and we also produced two fantastic live shows. I slowly let go of the blog when I turned 18 because the company that owned the venue we hired, Century Venues, offered me a job as a programmer.
-
2000 - I was three. Mum took me to the Olympic Games. It was fucking amazing, and I'll never forget it, even though I really don't like sports.
